NAPCC Report - 2 of 8 National Missions approved

The Indian government has finalised two of its eight missions under the National Action Plan for Climate Change announced on 30th June 2008. While the National Mission on Solar Energy has set a target of 20GW of solar power by 2020, the National Mission on Enhanced Energy Efficiency aims to secure 10GW of EE savings by 2020. The government is expected to roll out all eight missions by November as they will form the centre piece of India’s climate change negotiations in Copenhagen in December 2009.
